If I were to go back and get my masters it would be in southern gothic literature. Toni Morrison was one of my favorite authors to study in college. Delving into Song of Solomon and Beloved shifted the paradigm with which I had measured the world. Southern gothic literature is eerie, haunting, brutal. It sticks with you. It’s good to read books like that sometimes. And it’s good to expand the diversity of what you read, and who you read. Give me your favorite southern gothic books! Also, can’t forget short stories. Who isn’t incredibly busy? I’m a (single in the sense of parenting) mom of 3 while my husband is hours away for work the next 4 years. I work full time. I’m an author.
